How to Apologize (Asking for Forgiveness Gracefully)
How to Apologize (Asking for Forgiveness Gracefully) It is common to hear someone say âNo-one is perfect.â That is very true, otherwise we wouldnât be having the problems we have in this world. This statement is usually used to explain the reason why 100% should not be expected from anyone. As OK as this is, it should never be used to justify any wrongdoing. Whenever you wrong someone, the best thing to do is to apologize so as to maintain the relationship. But as important as apologizing is, it is not an easy thing to do. It can be a very cumbersome moment and many are even afraid of making an apology. This is not without cause because apologies tend to make you feel less right. You end up feeling like you are a bad person since you hurt someone else.Since apologizing is difficult, though important, we decided to help you know how to do it well. In this article, you will learn how wrongdoings can affect different relationships, what the prerequisites of making an apology are, how to go about apologizing and also see some example ap ologies which can serve as guides.SITUATIONS WHICH REQUIRE AN APOLOGYBeing a social being, you are involved in many relationships. From general friends, close friends, family, colleagues, business partners etc, these are all relationships which matter to you. As such, you naturally desire that the best of times are what you will experience. But just as imperfect as everyone is, there will be times when things wonât go right. The reasons could be many but one thing is for sure: those are not the kind of moments you want to have. And if they become too many or are left unchecked, not only will the relationship suffer but you could also end up getting hurt. Hurt is usually caused by the fact that at the heart of every kind of relationship is trust. When there is a breach of trust, you get hurt. This is tied to the universal need of every human being to belong and be loved. Even in business, every company seeks to be loved by its customers, thus the need to build customer relations. Huge profits then become the popular key to measure the love (loyalty) from customers. So, what situations are these that could come up and distract the flow of a good relationship? If you wronged a friendFriends are very important in your life and they play a major role in determining how you live your life.âThere is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship.â Thomas AquinasFriends can at times be held closer than family, especially if you have been close to them for many years. You could also hold them close if you have shared some fond memories with them or they came to your rescue at a critical time. When for example an argument breaks out and you say hurtful words to them, you can bet that they will question your friendship. This is the last thing you would want them to do. However, it is just inevitable. And once it happens, you need to quickly mend the friendship. Some examples of how you could lose friends include being in a relationship with your friendâs girlfriend; going behind your friendâs back to get a contract he was eyeing; getting into a heated argument with your friend and saying some very hurtful words etc.All these and many other examples can potentially destroy the friendship. If you value the relationship, it would be upon you to apologize to your friend for the wrong you did. This has the benefit of possibly mending the relationship and hopefully completely restoring it after he/she has forgiven you.If you wronged your spouse or a family memberIn most cases, the closest person you have in your life is your spouse. If you are not married, then it could be one of your family members or a close relative. This is usually as a result of the experiences you have both gone through together. If it is your spouse, then it could be the gradual development of mutual feelings of love which led to your getting married. If you have kids, then they could have added the âglueâ to the union. Combine this with the dates you probabl y go for and fun activities you engage in to keep the fire burning. The result is a relationship which can suffer the most in case of a serious wrongdoing. This is exactly why divorces are arguably the worst thing that can happen to anyone. It is painful to think, or even believe that the person you gave yourself to could hurt you as bad as he did.If it is a brother, sister or other relative, this relationship could have been built on special memories shared between the two of you. From mischievous activities done together when young to life experiences as adults, much trust has definitely built up.When suddenly one day you do or say something that really hurt the feelings of such a person, they can end up really wondering why you did it. As it turns out, hurts by close people are usually the most painful. It is not unusual for the hurt person to question the authenticity of your friendship. Since close relationships are always full of sacrifices made by people in order to sustain the peace, you will most likely be judged as having been self-centered all through. The hurt person might also believe that you have been taking advantage of him so as to achieve your goals.Since you are keen on rebuilding the relationship, it is necessary to apologize for your words or actions. And as always, the earlier the better. If you wronged your colleague or bossSince we have a need for income, we will eventually look for a job. And once we have it, we will seek to keep it. With more job seekers than vacancies, you will often try to attain job security in your place of employment. This means good relations with your colleagues and also your boss. Both of these kinds of people have a big say on your career and job security at your employment.Maintaining a good rapport with your colleagues, building trust by being a confidant and keeping with the team spirit will serve to prove that you are a good person. So what happens when you act in a way that proves the contrary?Similarly, your boss could have developed a tremendous amount of respect for you. He could have come to know you as an employee of integrity who puts in the required effort to bring about the desired results. In fact, he may have promoted you severally in the past due to this.Suddenly, you mess up. You engage in actions which go against the company policies. You probably got involved in some corrupt dealings or exposed the companyâs sensitive information to the public. What do you do in such a situation? If you wronged a client or customerMaybe you are not employed but are running your own business. You have worked hard and now have a few clients who support your business. You are still a small company but through the few clients you have, you are sustaining yourself.Out of nowhere, you fail to meet one of your clientsâ expectations. You deliver work that is sub-standard. You probably also deliver it past the deadline.Or, you run a manufacturing company and a particular batch of your products i s faulty. It was not detected by the quality control department and now is already in the market. Some customers have already sent official complaints via email and you know that more is yet to come. How do you go about resolving this?CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE MAKING AN APOLOGYImmediately you become aware that you have wronged someone, you need to start thinking about making an apology. You should not allow the situation to get worse by remaining silent. You may have been involved in an argument, probably a very heated one. This could have resulted in you saying the wrong words. You might have also acted out your anger in a violent manner thus physically hurting the other person. It could also be that the argument didnât get that far but still the impact was evident. As you prepare to do the best thing for the relationship, there are two critical things to consider.Sincerity is a mustYou cannot make an apology if you are not sincere. Hiding your anger so as to get past the situation is a deception first to yourself then to the person you are apologizing to. This is quite the opposite of what is needed in rebuilding a broken relationship.Whenever sincerity lacks, trust cannot grow. And without trust, there can never be any real and meaningful relations. Watch the below video for ways to cultivate honesty. Sincerity is one of those things which can be communicated both verbally and non-verbally. As you might however know, non-verbal communication is stronger than verbal. Remember that actions speak louder than words?Although you might be able to use all the right words, someone can indeed âsenseâ when you are lying. This would definitely be the worst mistake you ever made. Keep in mind that the person you are apologizing to already feels cheated because he never expected you to do what you did.No excuses or blamingWhether it is the aggrieved party that started the argument or not, this is not the time to start blaming them. When making an apology, you are communic ating a level of maturity. You have recognized that things went wrong and want to make them right. You are therefore taking responsibility of your actions. Whatever the other person did or did not do, thus resulting in the current situation, is actually irrelevant at this point in time.Since you are the one who drove the final nail into the coffin, the other person is most likely feeling deeply wounded. And if they havenât offered an apology to you yet, itâs possible that they havenât seen their wrong. All they know and remember is that you hurt them.Since you have decided to deal with the situation for the benefit of both of you, put in the effort needed to stay away from blaming.Blaming can happen in two ways:1. Blame shifting â" this is when you go on the offensive and start blaming the broken relationship on the other person. This is an aggressive approach and cannot possibly bring you the desired results. When you blame shift, you are telling the person you hurt, that they are squarely responsible for the hurt they got from you. You are proudly telling them that what you did was right and they deserved the treatment they received from you. This obviously makes things worse as it just aggravates the situation. The hurt person continues hurting and is made to feel the extra burden of carrying the responsibility.2. Blame sharing â" this is where you think you are being âfairâ and taking your part of the blame. In this case, you are likely to use a statement like âIâm sorry for what I did to contribute to this situation.âAlthough you may think you are being realistic, you are not going to achieve your goal if you take this approach. This is because your communication says that it is not entirely your fault that you did what you did. You are simply justifying your actions or words.HOW TO APOLOGIZE EFFECTIVELYHow then do you apologize and achieve your goal of rebuilding the broken relationship?Below we discuss 5 key steps to follow when making an apology. If you follow these simple steps, you will find that apologizing will not be as hard as it usually feels. Your chances of being forgiven will also be high.Acknowledge the offenseBefore apologizing, you need to know what you are going to apologize for. Just because the hurt person is not talking with you doesnât mean you should just go and say things you arenât sure about. You need to recognize that your actions hurt him but more than that, identify the exact action. There is nothing as annoying to the hurt person as you apologizing for the wrong thing. If this person is close to you, he or she might interpret it to mean that you have never understood them. If itâs a spouse, things could potentially get worse. The interpretation could also be that despite the time spent together, you have never really known what ticks and what doesnât. This goes further to mean that the reason you donât know these things is because you have never taken the time to learn. Meaning you havenât been interested in them.It is therefore of great importance for you to know what you did wrong and be sure to mention it while delivering your apology. This expresses concern for the hurt person as it shows that you noticed the wrong. After identifying what went wrong, you have to take (full) responsibility for your actions. As we saw earlier, blame shifting or sharing will have a negative impact in this exercise. It will prove that you are just apologizing for the sake of getting rid of guilt. On the other hand, when you take responsibility of your actions, it shows maturity and love. If you are apologizing to your spouse, this is most important because love brings a sense of safety. And where there is safety to express oneself, a relationship thrives. While apologizing, a simple sentence like âI have realized that when we argued, I called you names which were not appropriateâ could easily do it. It says what you did and shows that you take responsibility for the wrong action. If the argument happened very recently, it would be wise to take some time to let things cool off. This prevents another argument from taking place.Acknowledge the hurt you causedHaving identified the offense and taking responsibility, it is now time to mention that you know that you hurt the other person. This stage may need some thinking. And considering that you are not delivering the apology over several days, you will have identified the hurt before making the apology. It will be important to take time to understand just how your actions or words hurt the other person. Did you lower their self-esteem? Did you embarrass them in public? Did you remind them of a painful past they had forgotten and didnât want to remember?Whatever it is, you need to get it right for reasons similar to those mentioned in the previous step. You want to show that you fully understand the wrong you did. This will in turn show that you are aware of their feelings and are sorry for hurting them.W hen acknowledging the hurt you caused, remember to be honest. Use the right words and try to be as direct as possible. Also, avoid using ambiguous words whose meaning can be debated. The point you want to make should be clear. As you communicate this, show empathy. Let it be known that you feel the hurt yourself although obviously not like the other person feels it. Empathy helps connect with the other person and it certainly helps you get a glimpse into their feelings.Empathy is a necessity even when preparing to apologize. When you are empathetic, you increase the chances of the other person seeing you as being genuine in your expression of regret. Therefore, as they listen to you, and look at your body language, they will tell that you are being sincere.Make amendsApologies are never empty words which are followed by nothing. They incorporate some form of actions intended to prove the desire to make things right. And since you are the one apologizing, it is your job to propose the action you will take to make amends. However, in case you are not sure on what the best thing to do is, it is not wrong to ask. Just ask in a way that shows you honestly want to do what is best. As you ask, be prepared to be told anything. If you feel that what you have been told is too big to achieve, be sure to mention it.If it is a client, you can offer some discounted or free products and services. If it is your boss, you can offer to re-do the submitted work if this is possible. If not, just promise to do a better job next timeâ"and mean it.Watch the below video for more information about making amends. A common way for many to make amends is by taking the previously-wronged person to a concert or any other event they will enjoy. This is to help erase the bad memory and start the healing process towards being forgiven. These work especially well if there is nothing that can be done to reverse the situation. For example if what happened is the utterance of wrong words, these can not be taken back. Neither can action be undone. Anything that serves to change the feelings of hurt will therefore come in handy.Do not get it wrong though. The words and body language you use are the most important aspects of an apology. Choose the right words and do not be afraid to show your vulnerability during the process.Promise that it wonât happen againThe whole essence of apologizing is to point out your mistake and show that you recognize it as a wrongdoing. And because it is wrong and it hurt someone you care about, you will never repeat that same mistake again. You need to understand that this is a very solemn promise you are making. Do not take it to be just part of the process. If you make the same mistake again, you will promptly be reminded that you promised never to repeat it again. You might then be viewed as one who was not honest.Whatâs the trick? The trick here lies in asking for help to ensure you never hurt the person again. Of course this is very dependent on the affected relationship. If it your boss you are apologizing to, asking for help will possibly not work. In that case, just promise not to repeat the mistake and work on how to avoid it.If it is a friend or spouse involved, you can be more open and vulnerable at this point and admit that you have a weakness. If you have been hiding it, then this would be the best time to expose it. Do not mind being accused of living a lie.You can explain that you were simply trying to avoid hurting them all along. Remember that whatever you are saying has to be true. Do not say anything just for the sake of getting the apology across. Lies donât usually live very long, especially in friendships. You can ask your friend to point out to you when he or she notices you are doing something. For example, if you recently burst out in anger and your weakness is allowing anger to build up, then ask them to point out when you are being silent in an argument. The silence will often signify that you are suppressing anger. You can also ask them to help you communicate better. For example, problems with bottling up emotions could easily be sorted by learning how to be assertive. This social skill helps you communicate your needs and feeling more easily and with respect for both yourself and others.Ask for forgivenessThe last step in apologizing is asking for forgiveness. This is actually the whole purpose of apologizing. The desired goal is to be forgiven for your bad conduct and have the relationship progress to higher heights. The most important thing to note however, is that offering forgiveness is completely at the discretion of the one receiving your apology. It is upon him to decide whether to forgive you or not.In view of this, it is crucial not to pressure the hurt person to forgive you. Also understand that not everyone will process your apology immediately. Some people will want to take some time to digest it and give you a response later. If you are not sure which way the pe rson you hurt handles apologies, just allow them time. Let them know that it is OK for them to take some time to think through the apology. When you do this, you further show your respect for them by giving them power to make the decision on forgiveness. An important note on forgivenessWhen you wrong someone and are honest about it, you will certainly feel guilty about it. For you to offer an effective apology, it is also important that you forgive yourself too. Forgiving yourself is not in any way tied to whether the other person forgives you or not. This is simply between you and God. Forgiveness is therapy for your soul and the person who does not forgive ends up carrying an unnecessary burden. In fact, some people get forgiven but carry the guilt around and get unnecessarily stressed by it yet the other person moved on in peace. If the other person also forgives you, then heaven comes down for both of you. If they choose to hold on to the wrong, then you experience heaven alone. Ei ther way, you stand to benefit.EXAMPLES OF APOLOGIESBelow are some example apologies for different situations. You can use them as guides when preparing to make your own apology. Take note of the flow of the steps discussed above.Apology to your spouse for hurtful words spoken during a fightâIâm sorry for what happened last night when we had a fight. It was wrong for me to call you fat and I know that I hurt you by saying that. It was very insensitive of me and I apologize for it. I promise not to do it again and request that you forgive me.âApology to your manager for a shoddy job doneâIâm sorry for arguing with you yet it was clear that the work I submitted was below par. I understand how this has impacted negatively on the performance of my team and wasted company time because the work has to be re-done by Michael. I have undertaken to consult with my colleagues more closely and promise to be more keen in the future.âApology to a friend you hurt by not attending their graduation ceremonyâIâm very sorry I missed your graduation ceremony. I planned to attend but ended up forgetting. I know that being your best friend, my presence there meant a lot to you. I promise to give our friendship more attention. Iâll also be setting reminders on my phone to help me keep tabs on special events. Please forgive me and allow me to make it up to you by paying for a spa treatment. That would be a special one just for you.âCONCLUSIONWhile making an apology is often difficult due to the discomfort it brings, you will at least find it easier from this day onward. Just be honest and show that you regret hurting the other person. If the situation allows you to make amends, do it. Promise to avoid the mistake and ask for forgiveness.

God s Love For Mankind - 997 Words
A wise man once said, ââ¬Å"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proudâ⬠(1 Corinthians 13:4). Love is one of the many attributes of God and His creation. Through all of the various types of love in this world, Godââ¬â¢s love is the most abundant. His love is cast over every being on earth. This specific love, Divine Love, can be coupled with charity.. These two attributes contribute to Godââ¬â¢s love for mankind, mankind s love for God, and mankindââ¬â¢s love for one another. Godââ¬â¢s love for mankind is portrayed by the sacrifice of his son on the cross for our sins. Through the suffering and death of his son, we have the hope of eternal life. Those who believe in him will be granted this eternal life. The giftâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦For example, believing in Him as the Triune God, praying, and essentially love fellow humans. The Divine Servant is a key symbol when talking about loving others. To follow in jesusâ⠬⢠footsteps and to help the homeless, blind, weak, lame, and crippled is truly love. In my personal opinion I believe many Christians flaunt this statue and talk the talk, but do not walk the walk. Although some may walk the walk, they do it with bad intentions in their heart. They may be servicing a human who is less fortunate just for publicity or praise. In todayââ¬â¢s society people are indulged in social media and cell phones which makes it extremely easy for one to boast about the service he/she did. So, many may fall short in loving humans, therefore fall short in loving God. In this situation, a saying near and dear to my heart ââ¬Å"The unseen is eternalâ⬠(Iââ¬â¢m sorry for taking a biblical sentence out of context) comes to mind. I believe this saying is relevant because acts of kindness and love that are unseen by others are longer lasting than acts performed in front of others with faulty motives. Others on this earth may not be able to tell between good and bad intentions, but God can. Ultimately, that is who we will all answer to one day. For God knows us better than we know ourselves. This lack of love for fellow humans makes it easier for one to love him/her self or materialistic things, which relates back to the demons. The Prevalence Of Autism Spectrum Disorder Essay - 1786 Words
The apparent increase in the prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder in the United States has been a growing public concern. The lifelong condition can cause severe neurodevelopmental problems characterized by symptoms such as impaired communication, diminished social interaction, and unusual ritualistic behaviors (Johnson, Handen, Zimmer, Sacco, Turner, 2010). Unfortunately, doctors and researchers have not been able to agree on the direct cause for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or ways to treat the various conditions on the Spectrum. With little definitive information, families affected by ASD seek alternative interventions. One of the more popular interventions is based off the hypothesis that ââ¬Å"the physiology and psychology of autism might be explained by excessive opioid activityâ⬠due to gluten and casein (Millward, Ferriter, Calver, Connell-Jones, 2008). According to research, people with ASD can have excess levels of gluten and casein peptides in their urine and s pinal fluid; this is attributed to ââ¬Å"abnormally porous intestinal membrane(s)â⬠(Whiteley, Rodgers, Savery Shattock, 1999; Knvisberg, Reichelt, Hà ¸ien, Nà ¸dland, 2002). Because gluten and casein are not properly digested in children with ASD, the peptides can enter the circulatory and central nervous systems. From there, research suggests that the peptides bind to opioid receptors, disrupting brain chemistry, thereby impairing cognitive function. In accordance with this hypothesis, some promote aShow MoreRelatedAutism Spectrum Disorders Prevalence766 Words à |à 3 PagesAutism Prevalence Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) refers to a group of developmental brain disorders that affect a childââ¬â¢s cognitive, behavioral, and social abilities (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Youth Work Free Essays
Adolescent Development I am going to discuss the factors affecting young people during adolescent development. I will be exploring the physical and physiological, psychological, and social impact of change in adolescent, and the theories relating to the stages of development and identity formation. Adolescence is the period of transition to adulthood. We will write a custom essay sample on Youth Work or any similar topic only for you Order Now The first thing I am going to consider is the physical and physiological changes associated with adolescence. During this time a young person will experience physical and emotional changes. This can take 5 years or more and is a long process. At this period of rapid growth and sexual development in adolescence is called puberty. Growth and development of the body is controlled by chemicals called hormones. There is an increase in strength and height which if it occurs quickly it may cause the young person to have balance and co-ordination difficulties. It is difficult to determine specific times when the developmental changes occur; these will differ from person to person. However girls develop approximately two years earlier than boys. In girls during this period menstruation begins and physical changes happen such as breasts, pubic hair, body hair and sexual organs begin to grow. Changes In boys, pubic hair, facial hair and body hair begin to grow, including sexual organs testes and penis. The testosterone increasing sexual urges and erections, the pituary gland is responsible for releasing the hormones which have an effect on boys and girls. Hormones have a significant effect on young people; the signs may be changes in attitude and behaviour. A young person may experience feelings of anxiety, confusion, delusion, anger, frustration, fear, stress and humiliation. They may have a low opinion of themselves and their abilities and have anger they donââ¬â¢t know how to express in a productive way. Additional factors include culture expectations, peer pressure, pressure to achieve and there may be relationship issues with parents including conflict. Young people are searching for their own identity as well as pressure from the media and stereotypes formed by society and their environment. Some young people may have to face personal transitions not necessarily shared or understood by all their peers. These include family illness bereavement, divorce and family break up; issues relating to sexuality, disability and many more. Using the theory in practice I feel that I am using effective communication like listening, observation, empathy, and reflection increasing my knowledge and understanding of groups. One of the theoryââ¬â¢s by Bruce Tuckman was ââ¬Å"encouraging engagement involving and consulting with young people and considering their opinions, views, interests and issues that affect themâ⬠promoting the 4 corner stoneââ¬â¢s of youth work. I have identified some possible changes in gender in specific to groups in relation to adolescence. Some of the things I have become more aware during formal discussions in key topics of interest are opposite sex, drugs, culture and family break ups, the perceptions of them by the media and their peers, their body image and comparisons with celebrities on TV. I have identified opportunities to discuss and provide information on these issues offering workshops and group activities using different outside agencies with their specialist knowledge. One of the workshops was on drugs and a young person told us about their experiment with drugs and reflected on his feelings and choice. I communicated to him and praised him for being brave; he had identified how he had been influenced by his friends in to taking drugs. I could relate to this issue and can understand that sometimes there is a need to experiment and to feel part off the group it can influence your actions and choices. Social development in adolescence and identity formation is a new way of thinking about oneself. According to Eriksonââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"psychosocial model of development identity must be perceived by the individual but also recognized and confirmed by othersâ⬠. He believed this socialization process consists of eight phases are universal, and each stage is associated with their own unique developmental crisis. The crisis is an individual is thought to face in adolescence stage 5, 12 to 18 years is that of identity vs. role confusion. The individual will answer the question ââ¬Å"Who am I? â⬠peer relationships play an important role in this event. The individual must achieve a sense of identity in occupation, sex roles, politics and religion finding their own niche in adult society and developing a set of long term goals for the future. As suggested by Erikson and research peers become important, adolescents share in common the state of confusion, similar experiences, and feelings of loneliness, conflict with parents or authority, and a lack of identity so often transfer some of their emotional dependency from their parents to their peers. Young people are seeking role models and will imitate and copy behaviour and identity, until they eventually become more stable from their own identity that fits them as an individual. There can be pressures to fit in and be accepted some may become less interested in academic achievement and may engage in illicit behaviour such as drinking , having sexual relationships ,crime and drug use. Peer groups are often perceived by the media and society in a stereotypical, negative manner with frequent references to anti ââ¬â social behaviour, gun/knife crime, poor educational achievement and teenage pregnancies. The media ,music ,sports ,celebrities has an effect on the way a young person perceives themselves in society and who they identify as role models , they may become more self ââ¬â conscious of their body image (media portrays image of beauty and perfection ) develop low self ââ¬â esteem and adopt materialistic or unrealistic goals for the future. In summary adolescences is the period of transition to adulthood. The young person will experience physical and emotional changes which can be quite a long painful process. Identity development is associated with adolescence as suggested by Erikson a sense of identity is not yet fully developed. A firmly established identity also provides a sense of uniqueness as a person . Young people see and experience the world in different ways; they have individual situations and developmental issues. It is important to consider issues of the effects of peer pressure, the media, role models, perceptions by society and appreciate the huge impact of changes on adolescent development. Reflecting on your own experiences and others perspectives enables you to challenge your thinking and engage with young people to reach their own decision , value their own personal experiences by offering support, reassurance in a proactive way to encourage their transition into adult life to achieve a sense of identity, purpose and goal in their life . Which Orange Juice Has the Most Vitamin C Essay Example
Which Orange Juice Has the Most Vitamin C Paper Vitamin C which is also known as ascorbic acid or ascorbate is a water-soluble vitamin and an essential nutrient to the humans and other animals. It does not have any smell and usually, it is a white solid whose chemical formula is given as C6H8O6. The oxidation process that leads to the formation of dehydroascorbic acid is readily reversible. The deficiency of the vitamin in humans is known to cause scurvy; this is where the term was derived from implying its role in prevention of the disorder (Hilary Hickey, 2004). Citrus fruits and the juices they give contain a varying concentration of vitamin C. Fruits with a high vitamin C concentration include oranges, peaches, grapes, bananas, strawberries and lemons. There are also other kinds of foods that contain adequate amount of vitamin C. These include: potatoes, beans, cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, and tomatoes (http://www.exrx.net/Nutrition/Antioxidants/VitaminC.html).Vitamin C in dietary supplements is found in a variety of forms, more specifically on the basis of its efficiency and its degree of availability to the tissues after it has been administered. According to recent researches, the biological activity of natural and synthetic ascorbic acid is the same; the two forms of vitamin C are identical in chemical structure. Vitamin C in the human body is used in the production of collagen which makes the connective tissue. It also increases the ability of the body to absorb iron, a major constituent of blood, thus helping in red blood cell formation. As a result, the immune system is given strength to fight against infections. Recent studies indicate that Vitamin C has the potential of preventing cancer (Higdon, 2006).Vitamin C in OrangesHumans do not have the enzyme that can be used in the conversion of Glucose to ascorbic acid. Therefore, their bodies are not able to synthesize Vitamin C. For this reason, it is advisable that a healthy diet be composed of a great amount of Vitamin C (http://www.e xrx.net/Nutrition/Antioxidants/VitaminC.html). Reports indicate that oranges have a high content of Vitamin C; besides, oranges are commonly consumed in a majority of the households. There are a variety of orange types for instance, navel, Persian, blood, and Valencia oranges. The acidity level of the fruits ranges from 2.5 to 3, and this is largely affected by the age, type and size of the fruit; however they are not as sour as lemons (Articlebase, 2007).Two types of juices can be made from oranges namely: hand squeezed and orange concentrate. The hand squeezed orange juice is made by draining the fruit pulp using a ââ¬Å"juicer or a squeezerâ⬠. The concentrate on the other hand, is made from fresh fruits and orange juice that has been filtered and is usually in frozen state. There has been a heated debate on what kind of orange juice has the highest content of vitamin C. Similarly, various experiments and researches have been carried out to evaluate the vitamin C content in orange concentrate and fresh orange juice. In two experiments carried out by Terpstra, (April 2005), freshly squeezed juice had a high concentration of vitamin C, compared to the orange concentrates. The orange flavored drinks did not have any vitamin C in them. Similar experiments also have yielded results indicating that the hand-squeezed orange juice contains the highest amount of vitamin C. Exceptions occurred in orange juice concentrates that contained a high concentration of vitamin C (http://www.odec.ca/projects/2004/fink4k0/public_html/pages/exp2.html).Factors that inhibit the concentration of Vitamin CThe destruction of vitamin C in most cases takes place during the preparation of food, partly due to the reason that Vitamin C is very sensitive to heat, light and air (Larsen, 2009). During chopping, cooking and boiling, the orange is out in the open hence gets contaminated. But very low temperature preserve vitamin C in oranges, e.g. when kept in a freezer. Availability of o xygen to the oranges lowers the content of Vitamin C in them. As a matter of fact, oranges have a high content of vitamin C if picked while they are less ripe, for instance the Navel oranges mature early. Contributing factors to this include the nitrogen level of the soil and the temperatures in the surrounding: cooler temperatures and soils with low nitrogen concentration preserve vitamin C by inhibiting the rate of ripening. That is why in regions with high temperature, yield fruits of low vitamin C concentration. However, a good amount of potassium is required for production of high vitamin C (Là ³pez et al., 2007).Oxygen is the major destroying agent in orange juice since it causes breakdown of ascorbic acid. But also, fructose which is a sugar constituent in oranges can degrade vitamin C. In another perspective, availability of higher levels of citric and malic acid in oranges makes vitamin C resistant to degradation. To preserve the vitamin C concentration, cold temperature a nd obstruction to oxygen should be observed (Shi, 2006). The nature of the container in which the juice is stored also can alter the amount of vitamin C in oranges. Enamel containers have been found to lose more vitamin C compared to tin cans, because of the left over oxygen and vitamin C reacting with the container. Glasses are also unsuitable for storage due to their inability to preserve vitamin C. Hence the preference of storing oranges in carton boxes, which are opaque, thus light is prevented form reaching the fruits. Frozen juices are equally stored in cardboard cans sealed with a foil to conserve vitamin C from oxygen degradation (Lozano, 2006).The parameters employed in production of different kinds of orange juice affect the concentration of vitamin C. There is usually a very high concentration of Vitamin C in frozen concentrated orange juice and reconstituted frozen concentrated orange juice which is attributed to the blending of early-season fruit with late season fruit. Consequently, canned orange juice, as a result of intense heating in the course of canning, has a reduced amount of vitamin C (Tang, 2002). Exposure of the fruit bearing tree to sunlight augments the level of Vitamin C; therefore, fruits that appear to the outer part of the tree and towards the direction of the sun have higher amounts of vitamin C, whereas in regions where there is limited sunlight, there is low concentration of vitamin C in the oranges. Additionally, different kinds of fruits have dissimilar times of maturity. Oranges that mature within a short period of time have a higher concentration of vitamin C as compared to those that take longer to mature (Townsend, 2006).ConclusionAccording to the available research, hand-squeezed orange juice contains a high amount of Vitamin C. Orange juice concentrates have a higher concentration of Vitamin C because they are made out of oranges that are early maturing and those that take longer to mature. The other kinds of drinks tha t are orange flavored do not contain any vitamin C in them, but contain preservatives that could be harmful tot the human health. Orange juice that is canned contains a low concentration of vitamin C which is as a result of high heat exposure during processing. It is thus recommended that hand-squeezed orange juice is the best for consumption because it is pure fresh and has a high concentration of vitamin C.References:Articlebase, The Truth About Vitamin C in Orange Juice (2007), retrieved on March, 23rd 2009, from: http://www.articlesbase.com/health-articles/the-truth-about-vitamin-c-in-orange-juice-161458.htmlFinkler-kemeny, K. The History of the Antidepressant Prozac
The History of the Antidepressant Prozac Prozac is the registered trademarked name for fluoxetine hydrochloride, one of the worlds most widely prescribed antidepressants. It was the first product in a major class of drugs for depression called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors- or SSRIs. The drugs history dates to the early 1970s when the role of serotonin in depression began to emerge, according to David T. Wong, K.W. Perry, and F.P. Bymaster, in their September 2005 article, The Discovery of Fluoxetine Hydrochloride (Prozac), published in the journal Nature Reviews: Drug Discovery. They add: These studies led to the discovery and development of the selective serotonin-reuptake inhibitor fluoxetine hydrochloride (Prozac; Eli Lilly), which was approved for the treatment of depression by the U.S. FDA in 1987. Prozac was first introduced to the U.S. market in January 1988 andà gained its most prescribed status within two years. The Invention of Prozac The story of Prozac began when biochemist Ray W. Fuller came to work at Eli Lilly in 1963, according to the Science History Institute: In his research Fuller had used rats treated with chloroamphetamine, which inhibited the production of serotonin, to measure the effects of other drugs on serotonin levels. Fuller believed that this method would forward research on brain chemistry. Two other scientists, Bryan Molloy and Wong- who coauthored the article previously mentioned in the introduction- joined Fuller in his work at Eli Lilly. In 1971 both Molloy and Wong attended a lecture on neurotransmission given by Solomon Snyder, a researcher from Johns Hopkins University, the institute notes. Snyder had ground up rat brains, separated out the nerve endings, and created an extract of nerve endings that worked in the same way as living nerve cells. Wong then used this technique to test the effects of various compounds, one of which was found to block the reuptake of serotonin with no side effects. The compound, fluoxetine, became the drug that was eventually named Prozac. Interestingly, Eli Lilly first tested Prozac as a treatment for high bloodà pressure and then as an anti-obesity agent, noted Anna Moore in a 2007 article in The Guardian, a British newspaper. Eventually, after further studies by Fuller, Malloy, and Wong, Eli Lilly sought and received FDA approval (in December 1987) and the next month began to market Prozac as happiness in a blister pack, Moore noted. Skyrocketing Sales Sales of the drug took off: By the end of 1988, 2.5 million prescriptions for it were dispensed in America, according to Siddhartha Mukherjee in his article, Post-Prozac Nation: The Science and History of Treating Depression, published in The New York Times Magazine in April 2002, a year when the number of Prozac prescriptions had risen to more than 33 million annually. Though other antidepressants have taken over the top spots, Prozac was still the sixth-most popular such drug in the U.S. with 24.5 million annual prescriptions in 2015, according to Tim Hrenchir in his article, 10 Most-Prescribed Antidepressant Medications, published in July 2018 on NewsMax Health. How It Works Prozac works by increasing brain levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that is thought to influence sleep, appetite, aggression, and mood. Neurotransmitters are chemicals that carry messages between nerve cells. Theyââ¬â¢re secreted by one cell and picked up by receptor proteins on the surface of another. A neurotransmitter is either destroyed or retrieved into the cell that made it after the message has been delivered. This process is known as reuptake.à The effect of serotonin is amplified when reuptake is inhibited. Although itsà not entirely known why increasing neurotransmitter levels reduces the severity of a depression, it may be that increased levels of serotonin cause changes in the brains concentration of neurotransmitter-binding receptors. This might make the brain physically more capable of feeling good. Since its introduction in the U.S., Prozac has met with mixed reviews by scientists, patients, and doctors, and has provoked its share of debate. Controversy and Clinical Trials In her 1994 bookà ââ¬Å"Prozac Nation,â⬠à Elizabeth Wurtzel wrote of a nearly transcendental experience after she started taking the drug, moving from an absence of affect, absence of feeling, absence of response, absence of interest and a ââ¬Å"suicidal reverieâ⬠to a generally blissful state. Indeed, Wurtzels book helped the antidepressant gain even greater popularity. Peter Kramer in his 1993 book, Listening to Prozac coined the term better than well in describing how patients felt after taking the drug. But others began to question the effectiveness of Prozac, such as psychologist Irving Kirsch who wrote an article in 1998 in the journal Prevention Treatment titled, ââ¬Å"Listening to Prozac but Hearing Placebo,â⬠where he argued that antidepressants, including Prozac, were much less effective than was generally believed. In 2010, he published a book with the same argument called ââ¬Å"The Emperorââ¬â¢s New Drugs: Exploding the Antidepressant Myth.â⬠Clinical trials were conducted that both supported and questioned the efficacy of Prozac. For example, Jay C. Fournier, et al., in a 2010 article published in the JAMA, called Antidepressant Drug Effects and Depression Severity: A Patient-Level Meta-analysis, evaluated patient data from six trials and found that all antidepressants, including fluoxetine hydrochloride, exhibited minimal efficacy in mild to moderate depression. Conversely, in a 2009à systematic review of the literature, the National Institute of Care and Clinical Excellence found that strong evidence existed for the efficacy of SSRIs, including Prozac. Backlash and Continued Use PBS on the People and Discoveries section of its website notes that reports also emerged that some patients felt more suicidal when they were on Prozac. Other negative references to Prozac also began to emerge in society, PBS notes: Lawyers began to defend murder suspects by saying that whatever they did, it was under the influence of a drug Prozac. In all, there were backlashes against Prozac, and later backlashes against the backlashes. The drug eventually settled into the middle of the pack of antidepressants. As noted, Prozac is no longer the most prescribed antidepressant, but it continues to hold a place in the pharmacists formulary, as PBS describes it: It is today one of the dozen or so drugs in the U.S. that continue to be prescribed to millions for antidepression.

Present Participle as Adjective
Present Participle as Adjective Present Participle as Adjective Present Participle as Adjective By Maeve Maddox As one of our readers tells her students, writers should rejoice in the present participle because it is one of the rarities of English ââ¬Å"rulesâ⬠: one thing they can count on. Unlike its sibling the past participle, the present participle always has the same ending. Reminder: English verbs have five principal parts: Infinitive, Simple Present, Simple Past, Past Participle, and Present Participle. Past participles take different forms, but the present participle always ends in -ing. Used with helping verbs, the present participle forms the continuous tenses: We were living in Taiwan at the time. (past continuous) Tom Selleck has been playing law enforcement characters for thirty-four years. (present perfect continuous) Used without a helping verb, the present participle functions as an adjective. (The -ing verb form has another use, but this post is about its function as an adjective.) Here are some specific uses of the present participle: in front of a noun Poirot solved the puzzling mystery. (modifies ââ¬Å"mysteryâ⬠) The smell of burning leaves stirs memories of my childhood. (modifies ââ¬Å"leavesâ⬠) after a verb of perception They heard someone screaming. (modifies ââ¬Å"someoneâ⬠) The woman watched the cat creeping toward the bird. (modifies ââ¬Å"catâ⬠) with the verbs spend and waste Donââ¬â¢t waste your time trying to convince him heââ¬â¢s mistaken. (modifies understood subject ââ¬Å"You.â⬠) The inefficient blogger spent her entire afternoon researching and writing one post. (modify the subject ââ¬Å"bloggerâ⬠) to introduce a participial phrase Weeping bitterly over her loss, Gwendolyn lay on the bed for several hours. The archaeologist, sweeping the shards into a neat pile, cursed his clumsiness. It is this last use of the participle that often leads to the error known as a ââ¬Å"dangling participle.â⬠For example: Stubbing his toe on the step, the heavy chair fell from his grasp. Leaning affectionately toward him, her head rested against his shoulder. The participle phrases in these two examples are ââ¬Å"danglingâ⬠because thereââ¬â¢s no appropriate noun for them to describe. Dangling participles can be corrected in more than one way: 1. Provide an appropriate noun or pronoun for the phrase to describe: Stubbing his toe on the step, the mover dropped the heavy chair. Leaning affectionately toward him, she rested her head against his shoulder. 2. Rewrite the phrase as a clause: When the mover stubbed his toe against the step, the heavy chair fell from his grasp. Exposure to acute and chronic stress has been linked closely with the Essay
Exposure to acute and chronic stress has been linked closely with the development of addiction and vulnerability to addiction relapse. Your task is to describe - Essay Example In order to elucidate the link mentioned in the title of the paper and to delve deep into the connections to be discussed, one must first explore the ââ¬Ëmeaningââ¬â¢ and to what the title represents as Stuart Hall states: Meaning is important and extremely necessary to communicate the understanding of general terms, and is, in this case, important to represent a connection which will be theorised further into the paper. Basically (and by ââ¬Ëbasicallyââ¬â¢ the general idea is implied), stress is a state of mind which depicts the fact that something would have caused strain and strain being responsible for the production of stress that we feel mentally and physically another way to define it would be: An example of stress and its interrelation to the mind and the body, would be to consider stress as a psychological value and then evaluate what could the outcomes be in physical form, for instance chronic stress could cause physical effects to the body in the form of fatigue or could cause the changes in physiological processes which could in turn cause the change in the blood chemistry and lead to a weaker immune system hence the physical or the biological (to be more precise) effect of a psychological function: stress. Likewise, stress can be caused by biological variables as in toxins, loud noise or drugs. Hence the relation; been established between stress and the way it interacts with the brain in a ââ¬Ësuperficial formââ¬â¢, one can proceed to discuss the link between Stress and Addiction and later on; stress and addictive behaviour. What we observe from our society and even the media is the fact that various ââ¬Ëaddictionsââ¬â¢ have surfaced in this modern era. Be it drugs or other substance, be it behavioural or be it anything we feel we must keep on doing in a repetitive manner and involves the feeling of euphoria, for a part. What remains important is not the information ââ¬Ëaboutââ¬â¢ stress but how

Growth of Tomato (Lycopersicon esculemtum ) In Optimized Mixed Manure Research Paper
Growth of Tomato (Lycopersicon esculemtum ) In Optimized Mixed Manure Integrated with Recycled Biodegradable Natural Fiber Struc - Research Paper Example The environmental guiding principle aims to ensure that ordinary elements such as soil, water, air, forest and landscape are kept well and made use of on a long-term basis in the interests of the economy and the society. This particular manure in UAE comprises of numerous diverse materials, such as wood, farm manure, plants, biowaste camel, cow, goats, chicken, saw dust, date palm leaves and other components. Contemporary, methodical composting as is the case of the UAE, is a multi-step, which is a closely monitored process where contributions of water, air, date palm leaves sawdust, cows, chickens, horses, camels dung, and carbon- and nitrogen-rich materials which are then mixed together and given about six days to get composted (Rosen, pg 146). The decomposition progression is assisted by shredding the plant matter, adding water and then ensuring suitable aeration by frequently turning the mixture. Worms and fungi break up the material while the aerobic bacteria convert by chemical process the inputs into heat, carbon dioxide and ammonium while the ammonium is then converted into plant-nourishing nitrates and nitrites through the process of nitrification (Kumar, pg 98). The Soil in the UAE is characterized by the unfortunate physical and chemical poor properties, low soil fertility and structure may possibly threaten the food production and supply to the populace. Organic fertilizer, such as animal manure, has the ability to hold more nutrients and water making the soil more fertile as, it contains a quantity of nutrients that helps the plants to grow well. Even though the animal manures in the country which includes camel, cattle, sheep, and chicken are basically available, it does not find its way to the farmers in its simple and uncontaminated way. A manufacturing step has to make the animal manure fertilizers more accessible, hygienic and in simple form to the farmers. The title of this project is ââ¬Ëââ¬â¢Optimized Mixed Manure Integrated with Recy cled Biodegradable Natural Fiber Structureââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ and this project aims to find the most suitable mixture of manure animal fertilizers for plant growth and crop production as well as ways of improving the soil fertility and its composition. This project focuses on developing the compacting methods for handling and making use of the manure within the organic composite structure, and then test the load capacity and conditions at which the overall composition can maintain its potency for an intended period of time. The later stage of this project is to determine the decay time and deterioration of supporting the composite structure (Clark, pg 156). By tradition, composting is done by putting piles of organic matters until the next planting season, at which time the matter would have decayed adequately to be ready for use in the soil. The advantage of this method is that little effort or working time is required from the composter to fit in naturally with agricultural practices in temperate climates. But the disadvantages from the contemporary perspective are that space is used for a whole year. As a result, some nutrients may be leached due to exposure to rainfall, and disease generating organisms and there are the chances that insects may possibly not be effectively controlled (Cakmak, pg67). There are numerous contemporary proponents of rapid composting that endeavor to correct some of the apparent problems

The role of the mother in Islam
The role of the mother in Islam ROLE OF THE MOTHER IN ISLAM TABLE OF CONTENT Acknowledgement Preface Introduction Role of the mothers in Islam Respect in the world Holy Quran about mothers Qualities of the mothers Love for her children Sacrifice and dedication Protection and security Role of the mothers during Life A window of the child to the world Model for the child Strength of the mother Awareness of responsibility Setting Goals Encourage children according to their potential Conclusion References PREFACE I learnt a lot during the research on the ââ¬ËRole of the Mothers in Islamââ¬â¢. There were many new things which I had grasped during my thesis. Most importantly, I tried to understand what does Islam think and say about the mothers. I hope my research proves to be the productive and helpful for those who want to be taught about the ââ¬ËRole of the mother in Islamââ¬â¢. INTRODUCTION As we know that, Islam has empowered woman more than any other religion and they have more rights than any man. A woman has a very key and important role when she becomes a mother. Since the mothers have a very valued and dignified role in Islam. Their contribution is acknowledged and applauded. Once a man asked Prophet (PBUH) about the status of mother, Muhammad (SAW) replied, ââ¬Å"Paradise lies beneath the feet of mothers.â⬠In other words, gates of heaven are open for those who cherish and respect their mothers. ROLE OF THE MOTHERS IN ISLAM Respect in the world: A mother has a great respect in her entire family. She is to be obeyed. There are many verses of the Holy Quran which talks about the rights of the mother. However, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has enjoined goodness to the mother. A man came for the advice to Prophet (SAW) as to who should be treated well. The Prophet (PBUH) advised him to be good with mother. Three times the man asked, and three times Prophet (PBUH) told him to do good to his mother. At the fourth time, the Prophet (PBUH) told him to do good to his father. This illustrates the position of the mother in Islam. Allahââ¬â¢s messenger (SAW) says, ââ¬Å"It is one of the greatest sins that a man should curse his parents.â⬠Holy Quran about mothers: Allah has only discussed about the two mothers in the Holy Quran by name; Bibi Maryam, mother of Hazrat Isa (A.S) and mother of Prophet Musa (A.S). Holy Quran mentions the incident of Hazrat Maryam after the birth of Isa (A.S) when people started labeling her with the bad words. At a point, she wished to be dead. But Allah consoled her and told her not to grieve. Then she was given the dates and water. However, she was also ordered to take fast of not speaking for the three consecutive days. After three days, baby started speaking and it proved that Hazrat Isa (A.S) was a miraculous baby.(19:23-26) The other incident is related to Hazrat Musaââ¬â¢s mother who was forced to put her child in the river but was simultaneously assured that the baby will be returned. Allah knew the love of mother for the child. The baby was picked up by Firwanââ¬â¢s wife from river, but baby refused to suck the milk of foster mother. So Hazrat Musaââ¬â¢s sister suggested to try her mother, this united the child and mother back. (Surah Taha 37-40 and Surah Qasas 7-13) Following are the verses of the Holy Quran about the parents (mother). Treat your parents with great kindness;if either or both of them attain old age, do not even say ââ¬Ëuffââ¬â¢ to them;nor rebuke them;but speak to them kind words.Treat them with humility and tenderness and pray, ââ¬Å"O our Lord,be merciful to them, just as they brought me up with kindness and affection in my childhood.â⬠(Surah Bani Israel 23-24) QUALITIES OF THE MOTHERS Love for her children: The love of the mother towards the child is unmatchable. Whether the child is obedient or troublemaker, old or young, healthy or ill, the love remains the same for her child. A mother shows her love in different forms, sometimes she also scolds her child just because she cares and doesnââ¬â¢t want the child to be involved in any chaotic activity. However, that is why the children feel good at home because of their mother. Holy Quran says, ââ¬Å"Worship God and join not any partners with Him; and be kind to your parents.â⬠In other words, we must not treat our parents harshly even if they beat or scold us. Many of the children put their pleasure above motherââ¬â¢s happiness. This is what she gets after bearing so much pain and sacrifice Sacrifice and dedication: Sacrifices of the mother for the child are unmatchable in the world; she gives up her sleep as well just to make her child all right. A good mother places the needs of the child, both physical and emotional needs. There is no other relation other than mother who gives away all her peace just to make her child in peace. This is the reason why Islam has ordered woman to stay home, to look after their children but nowadays usually women are busy in making their own career instead of looking after their child which should be her first priority. The Quran says, And We have enjoined on man [to be good] to his parents: in travail upon travail did his mother bear him and his weaning was over two years. Be thankful to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final destination. [Noble Quran 31:14] However Shaykh Abdur Rahman As-Saââ¬â¢ad views on the verse is following: Be kind to your parents, shower love, affection and piety, both in words and deeds, treat them softly and never harm them verbally or physically. Then, Allah explains why we should treat our parents nicely. He says, the mother bore constant suffering, pain and hardship from the first moments she felt the child moving in her womb to the worst pangs during the time of delivery. And the weaning of two years, that is, during these two years the mother breast-feeds her child and looks after him/her. So after all the years of suffering, hardship, love and care, could we not, at least, compensate our mothers for what they have done for us and pay them back their rights. Protection and Security: A mother always tries to safeguard her child in every difficulty. However, few mothers are over-protective for their child which is not good. Because of it, children face too many problems in their practical life when they have to deal it alone. Pampered children are unaware of many realities of the world. Many children get fed up of their parent over-protection, yet they must not misbehave since Allahââ¬â¢s messenger (SAW) says, Shall I inform you of the biggest of the Great Sins? They said, Yes, O Allahs Messenger (saws)! He (saws) said, To join partners in worship with Allah, and to be undutiful to ones parents. (Sahih Al-Bukhari) THE ROLE OF THE MOTHERS DURING LIFE The window of the child to the world: When a baby is born, he is not unaware of the outside world. The mother plays a key role in introducing him to the world. The child life totally depends on the mother. His views, his behavior ââ¬â religion or other ââ¬â and his goals and mission. Later the views changes after he becomes mature, but what he has learnt in the beginning will always have a lasting impression on his mind. A man came to the Prophet and said, ââ¬ËO Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet (PBUH) said: Your mother. The man said, ââ¬ËThen who?ââ¬â¢ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ââ¬ËThen who?ââ¬â¢ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ââ¬ËThen who?ââ¬â¢ The Prophet said: Then your father. (Bukhari, Muslim) In this hadith Prophet (SAW) has clearly mentioned the importance of mother more than the father by repeating ââ¬Ëyour motherââ¬â¢ thrice. Model for the Child: Since a mother play key role in upbringing of the child, so she is greatly esteemed. Her habits, behavior, lifestyle and whatever a child observes from her will have an impact. Thereââ¬â¢s a famous quote, ââ¬ËA mother is better than hundreds of teacherââ¬â¢. This means, mothers have a strong control on their child. Therefore, mothers have an important responsibility on their shoulders to set an example for their child. Sometimes it becomes difficult for the mothers. However, it is not perfection which Islam demands but a willingness to accept the responsibility for gesturing good behavior. Most importantly, a man will be picked up from his/her mother name on the Resurrection Day. A Grand Mufti of Pakistan, Shaykh Muhammad Shafy wrote, ââ¬Å"Mothers have more rights than father.â⬠STRENGTH OF THE MOTHER Awareness of Responsibility: Motherhood is the most difficult job. A mother has to look into different techniques and strategy for parenting. There are nowadays many Islamic magazines in which articles are published related to the upbringing of the children. Mothers must read it to increase the awareness. This surely helps in dealing a child from different tactics. Command your children to make salah (prayer)when they become seven years old, and spank them for it (salah) when they become ten years old, and arrange their beds (to sleep) separately.(Abu Dawud) However it is the responsibility of the mother to make the child punctual towards prayer and make him habitual to it. Setting Goals: A mother should know what she expects from her child and then explain that to them. The children must know what is expected from them. For example, if a mother ask a child to lay the table. And the child does not do because of laziness, it means the mother has not asked him in a proper way because the children do the way they feel better. At end, child is blamed for either doing it wrong or not doing it. Similarly goes in the academic, mother must explain what she wants her child to be. Encourage children according to their potential: Every child is skilled in different professions. Allah has given children the ability to show the achievements. Holy Prophet (PBUH) says, ââ¬Å"Human beings are like mines of gold and silver.â⬠Many of the mothers compare their child with another one, which is simply wrong. As I mentioned above every children has the ability to hold great achievement. This act of mother takes many children towards depression, and they get tensed. Instead of it, mothers must rectify their weaknesses and develop the skills in which the child is good. CONCULSION In my research, I tried to explain about how much Islam respects the relation of a mother and what are role of the mothers in upbringing of the child. The mothers have the capability to either give a better future to the child or to damage it. So if we sum up the whole topic we understand, the mothers are the guardian of the whole family at home. However, it is utmost duty of every child to respect their mothers. Since it is the hadith of Allahââ¬â¢s messenger (SAW), ââ¬Å"Be kind with your mother.â⬠Therefore, a person will not enter a paradise if he/she scorns the parents (mother). I ââ¬â Introduction A hotel is an establishment that provides paid lodging on a short-term basis. The provision of basic accommodation, in time past, consisting only of a room with a bed, a cup board, a small table and washstand has largely been replaced by rooms with modern facilities, including en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning or climate control. The cost and quality of hotels are usually indicative of the range and type of service available. Due to the enormous increase in Tourism worldwide during the last decades of the 20th century, standards, specially those of the smaller establishment, have improved considerably. Hotels are independently assessed in traditional systems and these rely heavily on the facilities provided. Today, most of the Hotels provide goods and services using computer system. It helps to perform task in an easy way with less time consumed. Some companies are become fully automated while others strive for the similar setting. Fantasy and Illusion in A Streetcar Named Desire Essay
ââ¬Å"Illusions commend themselves to us because they save us pain and allow us to enjoy pleasure instead. We must therefore accept it without complaint when they sometimes collide with a bit of reality against which they are dashed to piecesâ⬠(Sigmund Freud). Illusion can be a part of our lives; however, if taken to the extreme, it can lead one to forget reality. Every individual has problems in life that must be faced with reality and not with illusion, even though it might throw one into flames of fires. Tennessee Williams play of a family reveals the strength of resistance between reality and desire, judgment and imagination, and between male and female. The idea of reality versus illusion is demonstrated throughout the play. Blanchesâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Stella, too, is a major character who lives in a world of hopes and fantasies. Stellaââ¬â¢s tears over her sister as Blanche was taken away at the end of play reveals that Stellaââ¬â¢s fantasies have been c rushed by Stanleyââ¬â¢s brutality. Stella calls her sister, ââ¬Å"Blanche! Blanche! Blanche!â⬠(142) , as if she does not want to let go of her sister. In spite of the fact that Stanley tried to justify and to relief her, Stella knows that something acquitted and abandoned had banished. She knows that her happy and humble world and her sisterââ¬â¢s hopes had gone. Through her fantasy world, she thinks she could keep her sister for ever, but fantasy does not always work and makes life appear as it should be rather than what reality is. Also, Blanche imagines the doctor as a gentleman who is going to rescue her from a life that she imagines it as a life that does not want to accept her. Blanche finishes the play by saying, ââ¬Å"Whoever you areââ¬âI have always depended on the kindness of strangersâ⬠(142). Blancheââ¬â¢s irony is demonstrated for two reasons. First of all, the doctor is not a gentleman; he came to take her to a mental health care. Second of a ll, strangers are not kind to her; they are kind only for trade of sex. Instead, they feel sympathy for her for creating a world where she is the victim. Blanche never perceives strangerââ¬â¢s kindness as something that people take advantage of.
